Anniston, Alabama: World-Class in Your Backyard

Anniston, Alabama: World-Class in Your Backyard

Vistas aren’t Coldwater’s greatest asset; it’s the proximity to Anniston’s diverse population is what will make the project phenomenal. Several neighborhoods adjacent to the mountain will have access to a multitude of trail experiences. Imagine a group of kids and adults alike who will have world-class trails out their backdoor…

Great Places to Ride: Mulberry Gap

Great Places to Ride: Mulberry Gap

We spent two days exploring the Pinhoti Trail (1,2, and 3). It was awesome and found a place on our list of favorite places to ride. For those non-believers out West, there are real mountains here and they are filled with the kind of riding that you love; long climbs and longer descents on tight, flowy, fun singletrack. In our three rides we only scratched the surface of what’s available.

After our visit Milledgeville, GA we headed north towards Athens. Somewhere along the road, we rounded a bend and saw a sea of white. It took a minute to remember what it was – cotton. Being from Colorado this crop is pretty interesting to me as I am used to seeing corn and alafalfa growing in fields.

Obviously known for golf, this city and its neighbors are also well known for over a hundred miles of natural surface trails.

Did a little exploring in downtown Augusta this evening. We found some great restaurants, cafes, and this great mural. It’s all a nice compliment to the boat load of trails in the area.

Took a spin on the Augusta Canal trail this afternoon. We haven’t had the ‘cross bikes out in awhile and we’re waiting for FATS to dry out. The trail (old tow path) is very scenic – it parallels the Savannah River for 7 miles.
